Meet Samsung The Wall, the brand’s latest venture into next-gen screens unlike any other. Come for the massive 146″ display, and you’ll likely stay for the picture quality. The Wall is designed with hyper-precise MicroLED tech for a display like none other—and we’re not exaggerating. We’ll dive more into the tech behind (literally) the MicroLED screen that makes The Wall an absolute standout for anyone considering a home theater (and it’s a good pick for businesses looking for a display that will wow customers, too). But for us, The Wall by Samsung is a great alternative for those who are creating a new home theater or upgrading their old one. Samsung The Wall even allows for customizable size options depending on your space, making it the perfect pick for superior entertainment. Instead of just projections and screens, you have more options than ever before. Don’t believe us? We made the switch ourselves

The Dave Abt Theater now sports one of these MicroLED TVs by Samsung instead of its original projector and screen. Don’t get us wrong, projectors are incredible and unbeatable. But we wanted to try something new and show off just what Samsung The Wall All-In-One can do. If you’re local, come by to see it in action. Below, we’ll dive into what makes this screen so special below, and what convinced us to make the switch.

What Are MicroLEDs?

Samsung The Wall is a massive screen, with over 12 feet (diagonally) of MicroLEDs. Now, you may have heard of OLED, QLED and even QNED TVs. These are all technologies that illuminate screens. And while they’ve inched ahead and behind each other throughout the years, microLED technology changes the game. Unlike a classic light-emitting diode, these tiny submillimeter chips illuminate themselves. The result is a screen that’s unbelievably bright, full of contrast and infused with color, all thanks to those minuscule chips. Zoom out and see the world as it should appear in real life.

Note: Those who are in the know will recognize that OLED screens use a similar technology, where individual pixels illuminate themselves. The difference here? Inorganic emitters used in The Wall are said to be more stable and avoid the potential for damaging burn-in or dimming.

Why Choose The Wall Over A Projector?

The answer is MicroLEDs. While next-gen projectors can deliver amazing picture quality and even 8K definition, nothing can get as bright and colorful as Samsung’s layer of submillimeter chips. There’s no layer of background screen that bleeds through, and since the pixels illuminate themselves, you’d be experiencing a show that looks so true to life that it might be superior to a real-life movie theater. Pop your popcorn at home and set up your comfiest chairs: this is what the future of entertainment is supposed to look like.

A Deep, Dark Background Makes The Wall A Standout

When asked what makes this screen such a unique one, our in-house custom AV expert Tin Oztunguc said the following: “Most importantly, The Wall has a one-of-a-kind image quality for depth, black levels, and overall picture accuracy which is unmatched, making it one of the best possible display options available today.” He went on to mention the wow factor, but we’re going to dive into that depth and those black levels. It’s usually impossible to reach the deepest, darkest black levels while a television is on. That’s because on classic LED TVs (and QNED, and QLED), screens are backlit with a panel of diodes. That’s not true with this model by Samsung.

Samsung The Wall is designed around Black Seal Technology for pure blacks. Instead of greyscale, you’ll have truer blacks that set the stage for unbelievable color contrast and bright whites. Those individually controlled submillimeter chips come to play against that stage of Black Seal Technology, all for MICRO contrast that’s easy to get lost in.

A Bezel-Less Frame, Multi-View, Art Display & Dolby Atmos

Surprisingly, Samsung The Wall is more than just its record-shattering MicroLEDs. This display is designed for the modern home, with perks homeowners will love, like a bezel that’s barely there. The thin-bezeled design adds to the movie-theater atmosphere of this MicroLED television. Meanwhile, Samsung’s Multi-View technology allows you to watch multiple things at once (a great choice for those hoping to watch multiple sports games at the same time). The theater-level television is equipped with Dolby Atmos sound, too, meaning you’ll hear effects and dialogue like everything is in the room with you, and flowing from all sides of the screen. Hoping to reduce the visual noise? Head to the Samsung Art Store and choose a work of art to have on when your television is at rest: it will look like a masterpiece…because it is.

If you’re hoping for the ultimate in home entertainment, the answer is a truly simple yes. If you’re hoping for the best available screen quality, you’ll find it on this television. Buy it here at Abt for expert advice and installation from the pros. We’d be remiss to mention that it does come at a stiff price, though, with the All-In-One 4K costing over $200,000. But if you’re designing a true entertainment space complete with movie theater seats, a home theater sound system and all of the regalia, this investment will be worth it. If you want to see it in person, we don’t blame you: it’s a sight to see. Come to see us in Chicagoland in our Dave Abt Theater: you’ll realize that the wow factor is an understatement.
