Welcome to the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show of 2024! While we have several of our team members out in Las Vegas at KBIS 2024, they’re sending us the best of what’s there, all so that you can get a first look at what comes next in kitchen appliances. Here, we’ll be taking a look at what La Cornue is doing at the show…including a peek at some of their more recent models, new concepts, and a look inside their showcase on electric induction ranges.

Classic Gas, Meet Induction

La Cornue has long been known for its beautiful gas ranges, which have always embodied luxury cooking. These ranges are all handcrafted in France, and are adored by those who love that signature style. From the brushed metal corners to the customizable features, no two ranges are the same. La Cornue has recently been stepping into the realm of electricity with induction ranges, and they’re showing these off at KBIS. Until just a few years ago, their home appliances were primarily powered by gas (a favorite among both career chefs and home cooks alike). But with many customers clamoring for induction cooking, La Cornue is showcasing its own version of this electric cooking method.

What is Induction?

Induction cooking is powered by electromagnetic energy. On the surface of the induction cooktop, you’ll see only glass. Underneath, there are coils that are ready to heat up your magnetic cookware as soon as it makes contact. The result? The range doesn’t heat up, but your cookware does. Induction cooking heats faster than classic gas or electric methods, all while foods are cooked to precision. And since there’s no open flame, some find it safer to cook with. And if it’s a contest between electric coils, a glass electric top and induction, induction cooking is clearly the winner.

While this isn’t the first time La Cornue has shown off its induction ranges and cooktops, we did get to see some exciting concepts from their KBIS booth. Induction has been a hot topic as of late, with more and more people moving away from gas cooking and toward other methods. It looks like the brand had a lot of fun showing off its Chateau series (right) powered by induction. At KBIS, the brand also showcased a smaller brushed brass model of their Chateau series (left) with an induction cooktop. Their more budget-friendly CornuFe ranges are also available for induction cooking.

A Wall Oven Prototype

There was more to be seen at KBIS 2024 in the La Cornue booth, too. One of the most exciting things in the booth was a single oven prototype that’s built right into the wall. Who knows whether this is something we’ll see in the future, but it’s an exciting concept that brings the beauty of the brand to a built-in oven.
