It’s International Women’s Month, and that’s just one of the reasons we’re excited to announce March’s Employee Spotlight! While we appreciate everyone in the Abt family, this recognition is particularly well deserved. Meet Diana Segura from our Logistics team! Diana has been here for about 14 months, but our senior logistics analyst has been an expert in her field for over a decade. With over fifteen years of experience in logistics and a former position as an industrial engineer in Colombia, she has a strong handle on the best ways to get everything moving. Whether you order a product in Florida or California, it’s Diana and her team that help organize the process of getting your things from us to you—fast.
Finding Logistics At Abt
Diana first came to Abt as a customer, looking for the same kind of products she now helps ship. “2020 was my first year in the U.S. and I came with my landlord to buy a dryer. One year later, a friend referred me to apply for my logistics internship.” While she may have started out as an intern, those years of experience in the field speak volumes. When asked how different her position is here compared to in Columbia, she responded, “Logistics is about moving products with the most efficient cost, as fast as possible, without damage—and always thinking about the customer. Here and there, the goal is the same. The biggest differences are the geography, distances, road infrastructure and probably the weather.”
Special Delivery! The Perfect Position For This Expert
After a full year at Abt, Diana still says that her favorite day here was the day she came to apply. “I got a complete tour of the warehouse, offices, store, and so on. Since that moment, I fell in love with this place. I thought I could fit in and bring my knowledge and experience to help the company grow.” And it’s true: Thanks to Diana’s analytical skills, the team is able to provide customers with the best service possible in the e-commerce world. The result? A reduction in out-of-state errors and increased customer satisfaction. She’s both a learner and a teacher, too, continuing to study business education at Midwestern Career College. “I love sharing my knowledge and experience with others: it’s how we all grow as people, as a team, and as a company.”
Wise words! Diana knows what proper support means when it comes to both team building and family. “I’m extremely thankful to my dad and sister. Even though I am alone in this country, they are always supporting and encouraging me to follow my dreams. I’m grateful to Stefan from HR (last month’s Employee Spotlight), my boss Gary, and Abt for believing in me, supporting me and trusting me. Thanks for letting me be a part of this great company!” We’re equally thankful to have Diana on our team, and can’t wait to see what the future holds for her.
