Samsung is showing off some of its newest tech at CES 2024, the annual consumer electronics show. One of their biggest displays today? A wide wall of Samsung’s newest entertainment tech, a transparent MicroLED TV screen. It’s a first for the brand and a first for the world, but a transparent MicroLED screen has amazing potential. While the background can be see-through, the content is bright and colorful. And did we mention that the transparency is adjustable? LG is going to be showing off their version during CES 2024 too, but our team stopped by the Samsung booth today. Check out our video below for a detailed look:
Here, our technologist Carl talks about some of the best parts of Samsung’s transparent MicroLED screen. There’s a glassy construction that allows you to see through it when it’s off, and you can adjust how translucent or opaque the glass appears. Carl even notes that it looks “like 3D without glasses”. There’s depth to the display that you wouldn’t find in a normal television. Meanwhile, colors come across beautifully and vibrantly.
We can’t wait to show you more of what our team saw in the Samsung booth today. There’s more entertainment and appliance tech that you’re likely to see on the floor at Abt sooner rather than later, though the transparent MicroLED screen might be a bit further out.
