Did you know we bake and serve free chocolate chip cookies in our BlueStar kitchen inside Abt every weekend? That’s right, every weekend. What started as a demo over a decade ago is now a legendary tradition that customers adore. To celebrate National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day, we’re showing our appreciation for our hard-working cookie experts who keep the Abt shopping experience alive—Abby, Isaac, Easha, Gabriella and Kathleen. We had the pleasure to speak with a few of the masters behind the magic and learn about their role.
Our cookie experts arrive at our BlueStar kitchen around 10:30 am every Saturday and Sunday. They start by setting up materials and gathering the chocolate chip cookie dough from the freezers as the ovens preheat. Then the fun begins! They serve hundreds of cookies throughout the day, leaving customers with smiles on their faces. And let me tell you, they’re delicious. Our cookie experts bake them perfectly; crisp on the edges and soft on the inside. Concluding around 4:30 pm, they wrap up by washing the dishes, cleaning the counters and putting everything away. While they work hard to create memorable experiences and yummy cookies for customers like you, they also cherish the special interactions they have. “One time a customer gave cookie jokes.” – Isaac. “I like it when they talk to us and we can get to know them.” – Kathleen.
