CES 2024: New Audio Gadgets from JBL

It’s day three of CES 2024 and today, our team did an exciting exploration of the JBL booth. The JBL brand has been one of the leaders in the audio industry for over 75 years. They’re known for their high-quality speakers, headphones and more, categories which you’ll see in our feature today. While they’ve improved existing audio lines they already sell, they’ve also created completely new products bound to make your music sound its absolute best. Curious what they have in store this year? Keep reading to learn more and start adding to your wishlist!

The JBL Xtreme 4 Portable Waterproof Speaker

The JBL Xtreme 4 portable speaker at CES 2024

The Xtreme 4 is the newest portable speaker from JBL that premiered at CES 2024. This device is enhanced with AI Sound Boost, a technology that uses an AI algorithm to analyze your audio in real time so it can automatically optimize the acoustic output level. This optimization creates powerful sound with impressive clarity. You can stream music with all your favorite services using Bluetooth 5.3 with LE audio capabilities. If you purchase more than one JBL speaker and want multi-speaker sound, you can even connect the Xtreme 4 to another speaker with Auracast or the JBL Portable app.

The device has a 24-hour battery lifespan, but you can listen for an additional six hours when in Playtime Boost mode. Whenever you’re ready to recharge, just use the USB-out port. If you sense your battery slowing down after long-term usage, it’s also completely replaceable. Feel free to take the Xtreme 4 on all of your outdoor adventures! It features a handy shoulder strap for carrying and the speaker design is IP67 waterproof and dustproof. It’s also environmentally friendly! JBL claims 100% of the fabric and 70% of the plastic used for their products is made from recycled material. Upon release, the Xtreme 4 will come in three different colors.

The JBL Clip 5 Portable Waterproof Speaker

The newest JBL Clip 5 also made an appearance at CES 2024. If you thought the Xtreme 4 was travel-friendly, this model is even more so. The staple carabiner that’s on all JBL Clip products has been redesigned with a bigger and more accessible opening. Now, it’s simpler to clip it onto a whole variety of things. It also contains increased driver power to provide consistent bass at all volumes for a more streamlined sound. Just as the Clip 5 is smaller than the first speaker, so is its battery life. You can enjoy 12 hours of playback with this device, but gain an additional three hours when listening in Playtime Boost mode. Outside of these features and the more compact construction, many of the Clip 5 characteristics are similar to those of the Xtreme 4. Both use Bluetooth 5.3 with LE audio capabilities, are IP67 waterproof and dustproof and are made of recycled materials. Both also offer multi-speaker connectivity with Auracast or the JBL Portable app.

The JBL Live Earbuds Series

At CES 2024, JBL debuted three new earbud models, the Live Buds 3, the Live Beam 3 and the Live Flex 3. Each model comes with the iconic Smart Charging Case found with the JBL Tour Pro 2. What makes this charging case so special is the 1.45-inch LED touch display on the outside. This tiny screen gives listeners complete control of their music at all times. While these earbuds are tiny, don’t underestimate their performance. They provide hi-res audio and JBL Signature Sound, so you can enjoy the best listening experience possible.

If you’re looking to personalize the audio in your earbuds, you can also use your smartphone to do the Ear Canal Test in the JBL Headphones app. After an OTA update at a later date, the Live 3 earbud collection will also be able to use Bluetooth 5.3 for stable multipoint connectivity. Don’t feel like charging your earbuds constantly? Don’t worry about it! The Live Buds 3 offers 40 hours of playtime, the Live Beam 3 offers 48 hours of playtime and the Live Flex 3 offers 50 hours of playtime. They’re also IP55 waterproof rated and will come in four colors upon release: silver, black, blue and purple.

The JBL PartyBox Club 210 & Stage 320

If loudspeakers are more your style, JBL debuted the new PartyBox Club 210 and PartyBox Stage 320 at CES 2024. Notice the color rings emitting from the PartyBoxes in the video? That’s right: these speakers can put on a themed, symmetric light show with light trails, strobe effects and starry lights all synced to your music. Both devices use Bluetooth v5.3 with LE audio and both can be linked to an unlimited number of other JBL PartyBox speakers. If you’re interested in creating stereo sound, you can also pair two of the same model with the JBL PartyBox app. Feel free to explore the app further to discover even more customizable audio elements. Both the Club 210 and Stage 320 are IPX4 splash-proof and provide two microphone inputs and one guitar input if you want to put on a live performance. Both have replaceable batteries that can be swapped out too. You can even purchase additional batteries to expand your playtime.

At this point, you may be thinking “What’s the difference between these PartyBox models?” The answer is size, design and battery lifespan. The JBL PartyBox Club 210 features deeper bass and more powerful sound, along with an AI Sound Boost feature. It offers 12 hours of playback and features a foldable handle for portability. The JBL PartyBox Stage 320, on the other hand, has both a telescopic handle and wide wheels so you can glide your speaker on the ground as you walk. It features a 240W RMS power output, upgraded drivers, two high-sensitivity woofers and dual dome tweeters. Ultimately, all of these design details work together to deliver the utmost clarity no matter how high the volume is. The Stage 320 also offers 18 hours of playback.

The JBL Quantum Stream Microphone Line

The last set of JBL CES 2024 products we are featuring is the Quantum Stream microphone series. While this line existed before the convention, they’ve expanded it to include the Quantum Stream Talk microphone, the Quantum Stream Studio microphone and the Quantum Stream Wireless microphone. Each of these three products is designed for content creation, whether it’s online gaming/streaming, podcasting or recording music. All three microphone models feature a lightweight construction and provide a wide and flat frequency response. The Quantum Stream Talk is the introductory model and features a super-cardioid pickup pattern and a shock-absorbing base to create optimal, background noise-free recordings. The Quantum Stream Wireless was designed for creators on the go and it’s wearable too! It features an omnidirectional pattern that can pick up sound from all directions at the highest quality, as well as environmental noise canceling technology.

The Quantum Stream Studio microphone is meant for professional-level recording. The Studio model has three specially designed condenser microphones that maintain consistent audio levels. No matter what environment you’re in, the versatile quad-polar pattern pickup will provide the best sound capture. While the 192 kHz/24-bit sampling rate delivers broadcast-quality audio, the dynamic range compressor will prevent loud noises from causing distortion. Other helpful features of the Quantum Stream Studio microphone are the RGB-lit volume meter and the universal mounting solution.
