Samsung Galaxy Note: A Tablet or a Phone?

Wednesday, September 7th, 2011

The new super small/gargantuan item from Samsung has a lot of techies scratching their heads.  Is the Samsung product a tablet or a phone?  It’s not hard to see why there’s such a difficulty to answer that question.  The Samsung Galaxy Note is sporting an incredible 5.3 inch WXGA (1280×800) HD AMOLED display is very tablet-like, but the only difference is that it is also a phone.

The Galaxy Note comes with a dual-core 1.4GHz processor (the same as in the Galaxy Tab 7.7), 1GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of built-in storage, an 8-megapixel rear- and 2-megapixel front-facing camera, and a dedicated stylus dubbed S Pen.  There is no official release date, nor is there information as to which carrier it will arrive on, but Samsung has released something definitely worth waiting for.

Digital Frame Extraordinaire

Friday, November 13th, 2009

Panasonic unveiled a hybrid audio system on Thursday, combining an iPod dock and digital photo frame. Panasonic is calling it “the ultimate media solution for den, bedroom, dorm room, or living room.”

The $299.95 MW-10 has a built-in CD player, a 45 station FM/AM radio, a low-density bamboo cone speaker, and multi-media remote. This digital frame extraordinaire has a nine inch LCD screen. It can display photos from a CD, SD card, and its internal memory. MW-10 has 4GB of internal memory; it can hold 6,000 photos, music, and video files.

Along with features like USB connectivity to a PC, music transfer from CD-R/RW, and simultaneous music and slideshow, the MW-10 is Energy Star compliant too.

This could be the perfect holiday present for a collage student, friend, or family member who is short on space. To view Abt’s line of docking speaker stations and digital photo frames come in the showroom or visit Abt.com.
