Thursday, Google formally announced that they are teaming with Sony, Intel, and Logitech to make web surfing on TV seamless. This new Google technology will be available on new TVs and set-top boxes. Sony will manufacture Google TV-enabled TVs, Logitech is creating the set-top box for TVs that aren’t equipped with the new technology, and Intel is creating the Atom processors for set-top boxes. It will make TV shows, movies, and videos easy to find and watch using only one remote. You can surf the web and personalize web content right from on your TV.
Expected in stores this fall, Google TV-enabled TVs will run off the new Android platform, allowing users to download Android applications and integrate the internet and TV by using Flash-compatible hardware.
Look for the Google TVs later this year.
