Sony Hides the Wires for A Cleaner Look

The Sony XBR10 is super-cool. Edge-lit with LEDs, XBR10 is ultra-slim—like a picture frame for easy wall mounting. The new XBR’s features made it a real stand-out at this year’s CEDIA Expo September 9-13, 2009. An extremely unique feature to the XBR10 is the wireless media box where all of the fun stuff will be plugged in—along with all of the necessities. The media box is an ideal hiding place for all of the cords that were formally plugged into the back (and sometimes front) of your TV. This WiFi media box sits near the TV so that the actual TV remains uncluttered of wires.

Another new feature is the new widget from Yahoo. Who doesn’t love YouTube? You find a video that you want to share with everyone but squeezing in front of a computer screen doesn’t appeal to you. Never fear. Relax on the couch and kick your feet up. You can watch YouTube right on your new XBR along with streaming video from NetFlix and Amazon.

The new XBR10 will be available in October. The 46-inch KDL-46XBR10 is listed at $4,500 and the 52-inch KDL-52XBR10 is listed at $5,000.
