Prosciutto Wrapped Asparagus
The combination of two simple ingredients makes this appetizer so delicious, prosciutto and asparagus! This app may look fancy but it is definitely easy to make!
- You will need 6 slices of prosciutto, 12 asparagus spears, and butter or nonstick spray.
When you are prepping your asparagus, wash the spears and slice off about ½ in. on the bottom of each asparagus. Then, take your slices of prosciutto, and cut each of them in halves-lengthwise, resulting with 12 strips in total.On a cutting board, place each asparagus spear on top of the meat. The tip of the spear should be lined with the bottom part of the meat. Take the bottom end of the meat and wrap over the spear and start rolling up. Since the asparagus is on a angle, most of the asparagus should be covered by the meat.
After each spear is wrapped, heat up a frying pan with butter or nonstick spray. Fry each spear for 1-2 on each side or until the prosciutto is browned and crispy. You can also do this in batches if your pan in large enough.
A twist to a caprese salad in bite size form! This appetizer is easy to make and it cuts down on your dishwashing load. It’s a flavorful and healthy, all in one bite!
- You will need little skewers, fresh mozzarella cheese, cherry or grape tomatoes, fresh basil leave, olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Make sure to rinse all of your fresh produce, the grape tomatoes and basil leaves. Cut the mozzarella cheese into small squares or cut them in half if they are cheese balls. Then take a little skewer and begin to build your caprese bite. Start with the tomato, basil leaf and then the mozzarella. Repeat for each skewer. Take a serving platter, and drizzle balsamic vinegar over the platter. After, place each skewer on top of the drizzle.
Carpaccio is a dish known for thinly sliced fish or meat for presentation. Salmon carpaccio is thinly sliced and served raw. This recipe is light, refreshing, and healthy, making it a perfect appetizer for your guest. The preparation for this dish is short and there is no baking or cooking required!
- You will need ½ lb fresh salmon filet, with the bones taken out, extra virgin olive oil, lemon juice, capers (drained), sea salt, and pepper.
First, take your salmon filet and wrap it with plastic wrap and place in the freezer for about 15 minutes. Putting the filet in the freezer will make it easier to slice the salmon into thinner slices. In the meantime, you can prepare the dressing while you wait. In a mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons lemon juice, ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil, and capers.
After 15 minutes has passed, remove the salmon from the freezer and thinly slice the salmon filet. The best knife to use for slicing fish is a boning knife. Boning knives last long and they ensure precise cuts while cutting through meat, poultry and fish. Once the filet has been sliced, place all slices in a single layer on top of a serving platter. Then, drizzle the dressing on top of the salmon slices, and then finish off the app with sprinkles of sea salt and pepper.
