Slow Cooker Cider

Yields12 Servings

 8 cups water
 4 honeycrisp apples
 1 pear
 1 orange
 4 cinnamon sticks
2 tbsp mulling spices: all spice, whole cloves, nutmeg, and cardamon
 ¼ of a pomegranate
1

Start by prepping the fruits. Core and cut the apples and pear into wedges (we used the Rösle apple cutter, which works great for smaller fruits), slice the orange, and remove the pomegranate seeds.

2

Combine all of the ingredients—the fruits, spices, and water—in your slow-cooker. We used a 4-quart cooker, which was just large enough to fit our concoction.

3

Cook the mixture on low for 8 hours, or high for 4 hours. When done cooking, scoop out the fruit and spices, then pour the liquid through a strainer to remove spice residue and fruit bits. Pour into serving glasses, garnish with an orange slice and a sprinkle of cinnamon, and enjoy!
