Yesterday was the first day of summer and less than two weeks until July 4th. Prepare yourself for days and nights at the pool, vacations, and most importantly: barbeques! The smells of grilled meat, fresh-cut fruits and vegetables and the sweet sting of freshly squeezed lemonade is enough to make anyone forget about their worries. In order to help you savor every moment of summer, we’ve put together a list of some of our favorite recipes.
Chicago native and Tribune columnist John Kass garnered a lot of attention from foodies a few years ago with his recipe for beer can chicken. Since then, others have adopted their own versions and even manufacturers have created special tools to use when placing the beer can in the chicken. No need for fancy tools, just some good old fashioned Greek-style seasonings and a can of decent pilsner. Enjoy some of the juiciest and most flavorful chicken around.
To add a little bit of veggies to your tasty chicken, check out this recipe for grilled vegetables by chef Giada De Laurentiis. Use your favorite vegetables, mix it in with some seasoning, and cook it on the grill. This recipe is easy and healthy. A definite hit for everyone.
Now that you’ve finished your main course and eaten all your vegetables like your mom taught you, isn’t it time to spoil yourself with some dessert? How about this recipe of bourbon pecan pie by one of my favorite chefs, Alton Brown from “Good Eats”. The tangy sweetness of the pecans and pie crust mixed with a hint of bourbon is the perfect finishing touch for your barbecue.
Every one of these recipes can be perfected on grills sold at Abt Electronics. What are some of your favorite recipes? Let us know below in the comment section. Have a great summer!
