Panasonic Lumix Cameras Deliver HD Video

With the PMA Convention ready to start Thursday in Las Vegas (see Nikon D60 post below), Panasonic is bringing out eight new Lumix digital cameras, two of which feature HD video recording capabilities. The 10.1-megapixel DMC-FX-35 features a 25mm wide-angle lens, 4x optical zoom, a 2.5-inch LCD screen, and the ability to create in-camera slide shows with preloaded music. The FX-35 also can record 1280 x 720p high-definition video at 30 frames per second, which you can then view in all its picturesque glory on an HDTV.

Panasonic’s 9.1-megapixel DMC-TZ5 features a 28mm wide-angle lens, 10x optical zoom, intelligent auto mode, and a 3-inch LCD display. Like the FX-35, the TZ5 can record video in 1280 x 720p high-def resolution at 30 frames per second. Both cameras allow you to view your still shots and video images on an HDTV, and they are expected to be available in March in silver, black, and blue models. –by Graham W.
