The New Bowers & Wilkins PX Headphones

Achieving just the right mix of luxury and technology is no easy feat, but it’s something that Bowers & Wilkins does again and again, which is one of the reasons we love them. It’s why they’re one of the most respected home audio brands, and are trusted for use in such prestigious locations as Skywalker Sound, Abbey Road Studios, and, of course, the David Abt Theater. While most know B&W speakers as a superior brand for home audio, their line of portable audio and headphones is equally as impressive. And the new Bowers & Wilkins PX wireless noise-canceling headphones mark the brand’s most advanced headphone offering yet.

One look at the B&W PX, and it’s clear that these new headphones are part of the P-series lineage. Curved aluminum arms connect the the earcups to the padded leather headband—the outside of which is covered in a durable, colored ballistic nylon shell. Those cups are constructed with an ergonomic ovular design, and covered in more supple leather, to create not just a comfortable fit, but also an excellent acoustic seal with your ear, helping keep your music in and and the outside noises out.

Audio is delivered by a pair of custom 40mm drivers based on the reference units found in B&W’s flagship, the P9 Signature Headphone. A state-of-the-art digital system handles audio processing powers the aptX HD Bluetooth transmission system, for an unparalleled wireless listening experience that is indistinguishable from wired headphones. Add in some of the industry’s best noise-cancelling technology, and you have a pair of headphones that celebrate not just what you do hear, but what you don’t.

Along with the audio excellence, the B&W PX also pack in a unique intuitive user interaction system that handles the music controls for you. Put the PX on your head and they’ll automatically switch on; take them off and they’ll go back into standby mode. When you lift one of the earcups or place the PX around your neck, they will pause your music until you put them back on. Rounding out the technological advancements is the PX app, which lets you fine-tune the noise cancellation levels, allowing you to decide just how much background noise gets in.

The Bowers & Wilkins PX headphones promise up to 22 hours of listening on a single battery charge. They’re available in two different finishes—Soft Gold with navy blue accents, and Space Grey with black accents—and are now available to order: Bowers & Wilkins PX noise-cancelling headphones.
