It’s a good time to be someone who enjoys listening to music on the go. Bose just dropped a quartet of new products that put your music wherever you want it, whether that’s in your ears, around your neck, or in your pocket. Let’s check out what the new Bose products have in store.
First up are the new Bose QuietComfort 35 Wireless Headphones II, a refresh of the uber-popular model that debuted a little over a year ago. When the original QC35 headphones dropped, they were quickly crowned the Best Noise-Cancelling Headphones by countless users and media outlets alike. And they became one of our best-selling wireless headphones, thanks to the combination of stellar sound quality and class-leading noise cancellation technology. The QC35II are largely the same, functionally, but build on their predecessor with the inclusion of a dedicated Google Assistant function. Now, with the tap of a single button, you are instantly connected to your Google Assistant app, so you can make calls, perform Google searches, add to your calendar, and more, all with the power of your voice. Here’s a closer look at the original QC35 and the new QC35II compared:
On-ear headphones are not for everyone, especially more active users. Bose has long been known for their SoundSport in-ear headphones, perhaps the most popular sport earbud line ever released. The SoundSport have also been available in a “wireless” version, which still utilized a wire that connected the individual earbuds to eachother. With the release of the new Bose SoundSport Free, Bose has its first truly wireless in-ear headphone. If you’re looking for a quality alternative to the Apple Airpods, or something better suited to your workouts, the SoundSport Free are for you. A weather-resistant construction keeps them safe from a surprise rainstorm and extra-sweaty workouts, while Bose’s proprietary StayHear+ silicon tips keep them put when things get damp. And of course, they still provide the sound quality that Bose headphones are known for.
Next up is the most unique of the new products: the Bose SoundWear. This wearable device exists in the space between portable speakers and headphones, combining attributes of both of those devices. The SoundWear is meant to be a hands-free device; you wear it around your shoulders, as you might do with your over-the-ear headphones when you want to hear the outside world. But unlike headphones, the SoundWear does not keep sound contained to the cups, but broadcasts it like speakers do. It’s essentially a wearable Bluetooth speaker set, so you can take your music with you, but still hear and interact with the outside world. An integrated microphone lets you make and take calls on the SoundWear, or use it to interact with Siri or Google Assistant.
Rounding out the new product announcement is the Bose SoundLink Micro Bluetooth Speaker. The SoundLink series has offered a variety of portable speaker options, covering a wide range of sizes and price points. The SoundLink Micro brings both of those factors to a new low. It’s not only Bose’s most affordable SoundLink portable speaker, but also the smallest. But, as the tagline says, it’s “tiny. Until you turn it on.” Bose has always excelled at getting big sound out of small products, and the Micro is no exception. A rugged, waterproof build and integrated clip let you bring the SoundLink Micro on your adventures and strap it just about anywhere to enjoy your music without worrying about whether or not it will survive.
