Japanese Manufacturer Repairs Itself While Giving Back

Tokyo based company JVC Kenwood Holdings said Friday that several of its domestic facilities were damaged in the March 11 earthquake, but repairs have been made to most sites and business had resumed last week. A good sign in a week of tragedy showing that manufacturers affected by the quake can quickly turn around. At the facility, no employees were injured, but the company continues to be involved in the status of employee family members who have been out of contact since the tragedy.

To assist in the national rescue efforts, the company also donated 200 land mobile radios and 100 license-free receivers manufactured by Kenwood to give hardest-hit victims an alternate way to communicate without using public communications.

Hopefully this will be a continuing trend for all Japan-based companies as they slowly regain their footing after this tragedy.
