One of the best times of the year to clean out your house is in the fall, before you start to close up the shed and the garage, and begin keeping the windows shut as the temperatures drop. Make a sweep of your home and collect the things you don’t need, and instead of pushing those things deeper into storage, get them out of the house. You’ll reduce clutter and free up space—which you’ll appreciate as you start spending entire days cooped up inside—and next year’s spring cleaning will be easier when you start with a de-cluttered home. Plus, the annual recycling and donation event from The Burke Group is a convenient way to get rid of all those things without them ending up in a landfill.
As in year’s past, we’re teaming up with The Burke Group, The Salvation Army, and The Village of Rosemont to offer this free event to local residents. Hosted by The Burke Group at their main office (9575 W Higgins Rd), we will be collecting all manner of household goods (including electronics, appliances, clothing, and furniture), as well as waste products like used batteries and Styrofoam packaging. Just stop by, drop it off, and we’ll take care of the rest. And if you’ve got things to recycle or donate, but can’t make it out to the event, remember that the Abt recycling center is open throughout the week, and accepts your old appliance, electronics, and packaging waste for recycling.
