Ever Seen A Plasma Windmill?

There are many great attractions and interactive displays located throughout our showroom, but one that sometimes gets overlooked is the Plasma Windmill. You can see this amazing video display slowly turning high up on the wall behind the fountain as you enter our Atrium area.

Abt Plasma Windmill 1

This unique windmill, currently the only active one in the world, was originally designed for the annual Consumer Electronics Show by Panasonic’s computer engineers in Osaka, Japan. It weighs approximately one ton and features four industrial DVD players that use a specially designed four-layer DVD software package to display a variety of images. The belt that rotates the four plasma units is the same belt NASA uses in various aspects of its Space Shuttle program.

If you like windmills, visit Abt and skip that expensive trip to Holland. Their windmills don’t even have video displays attached to them (although, to be fair, the people have wooden shoes and we don’t). To see our more conventional plasma TVs. —by Graham W.
