Tomorrow is Earth Day, the perfect chance for us to give back to the planet and do some good. If you know anything about Abt, you know that we’re an earth-conscious company always trying to reduce our environmental impact. We’ve been recognized for our efforts and hope to set an example for other retailers looking to make the world a little better. Do you want to get on board with going green? In honor of Earth Day, we have a special event planned. Visit the Abt team at Old Orchard in Skokie tomorrow, April 22, for a chance to recycle with us. We’ll be in the west mall parking lot, so bring your electronics waste that’s been cluttering up your home. It’s the perfect opportunity to learn more about our green efforts. If you can’t make it to the event, have no fear: you can also visit our recycling center at our Glenview store! In addition to e-waste, you can also recycle your appliances there. We also use the site to break down Styrofoam and other packing materials from our deliveries. You can also find more of our recycling stats on the blog.
There are so many ways to go green for Earth Day and every other day. Make the swap to LED bulbs and unplug appliances or electronics when not in use. If you’re shopping for new appliances, look out for those recognized by Energy Star for their efficiency. Or if you’re looking to make a major overhaul, maybe your next vehicle should be electronic.
