CES 2022: The Asus Zenbook 17 Fold OLED

While curved screens and monitors aren’t new to the market, Asus shook up the 2022 Consumer Electronics Show with a switched-up version of their classic Zenbook. Unlike the competition, this model sports a screen that does more than curve or roll. It completely folds in half, giving a new look to transforming laptops. Tablets that sport attachable keyboards have been a staple of the tech industry for nearly a decade. But it’s rare to see a screen that can fold in on itself (and rarely have they been this powerful). Explore what makes the Zenbook 17 Fold OLED different below.

Four Formats: The Zenbook 17 Fold OLED

The hinged OLED screen can take four shapes: a flat tablet, folded, used with a separate keyboard, and stored.

Size: 17.3 inches

Processor: 12 Gen Intel Core i7 U-Series

Storage: 16 GB of RAM, 1 TB Storage

Resolution: 2560 x 1920

Battery: 75Wh

Four Modes: Propped up with keyboard, folded in clamshell mode keyboard-free, flat, and folded away to store.

When is it available? Q2 of 2022

Our Takeaway: This 17.3-inch model is designed for those who need a large screen on the go. Instead of squinting at an ultra-small tablet, users will be able to bring an extra-large OLED screen with them anywhere. With so many ways to use it, you’ll never have a hard time getting what you need accomplished, whether that’s working from a coffee shop or finishing up the last few episodes of your new favorite show from the library. A foldable screen is impressive in its own right, and the fact that it’s OLED makes it even more appealing. When you’re finished working (or watching), fold it in half and slip it into your bag along with the keyboard.
