CES 2018: LG InstaView Smart Kitchen Products

In addition to the laundry room, LG is also bringing smart solutions to your kitchen. You may not think there are many ways to make your fridge “smarter,” but then you might be surprised. LG’s Smart InstaView ThinQ refrigerator packs a wealth of technology into the icebox to make it a veritable kitchen assistant, bringing new levels of convenience to your kitchen.

The first thing you’ll notice is the 29-inch touchscreen panel that covers the entire right-side door and give the InstaView fridge its name. This display is the portal to the InstaView’s intelligent functions. Touch the panel to wake it and access the home screen, which can display information like the time and temperature, your grocery list, or even your favorite photos. A quick double-tap bring up the InstaView feature, which makes the panel translucent, letting you see the contents without opening the door. At the same time, an information overlay can tell you how long you’ve had the items in your fridge—even reminding you if perishables are nearing their expiration date. The ThinQ-powered fridge can also help you prepare for dinner, by suggesting a recipe based on the ingredients inside, and then putting that recipe right up on the screen. Check out the video to see it in action.
