Alpine’s CES booth is one of our favorite stops each year, featuring tons of new products and some very impressive display vehicles. This year was no different, as we got to check out an abundance of their upcoming audio products, as well as some other goodies.
We learned about the new Alpine X-Series, which is the company’s new overarching series of flagship amps, speakers and subwoofers. The X-Series will focus on audio attributes of imaging and soundstage, terms normally reserved for describing high-end home sound systems.
We got a look at some of the new double-DIN Alpine headunits, both direct OEM replacements and larger ones that might need some custom fabrication. The receivers are built to be compatible with both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, so you can enjoy full smartphone integration regardless of which flavor of mobile OS you prefer.
It’s no secret that we love Alpine’s Jeep expertise, with their X-09 headunits integrating seamlessly into Jeep dashboards without losing any original functionality. So it was a treat to get a look at the upgraded X-09 in-dash systems, which are now weatherproof. With IP54 dust and splash resistance, these new units are the perfect addition to any off-roading Jeep Wrangler.
Jeep Wrangler owners might also be interested in Alpine’s new combo backup camera/brake light module:
And though not a Jeep-specific product, those who find themselves enjoying the great outdoors will probably love the new Alpine ICE cooler. It’s a rugged, premium cooler with a built-in Alpine Audio system. Sounds like the perfect companion to day at the beach or a tailgate party.
As always, it was lots of fun visiting with our friends at Alpine and getting info on what they’ve got in the pipeline. Can’t wait to get our hands on some of these products and begin using them in our installs!
