Back to School

It’s that time of year again. Summer is winding down and the inevitable back to school preparations are right around the corner. Sometimes, the best products for back to school aren’t pens and paper; they’re the cool new products or latest gadgets to help chase away the end of summer blues. As the Abt Marketing intern, I spent a lot of time browsing their huge selection of electronics and appliances on their website. This sparked some ideas of what I needed for this upcoming school year. This summer my favorite gadget so far has been my iPod Nano. It holds a variety of my favorite music and is so small I can take it anywhere. Because there are very few places I go without my iPod Nano, I was constantly checking out the latest accessories. For back to school, I love the new Nike+ iPod Sport Kit. The Sport Kit is a tiny attachment you sync with your iPod and a sensor you keep in your running shoes that keep track of your workouts. You can either purchase the Nike+ shoes or buy a strap to attach the sensor to your current shoes. All of your workout data can be stored at Nike.com, where you can set new goals or challenge your friends. These products actually have me excited to head back to school so I can discover new running paths, armed with an iPod full of my favorite music.

Abt has a great selection of this year’s best electronics and appliances for back to school. Check out the latest deals on MP3 players, gaming systems, laptops, microwaves, TVs and more. What is your must have back to school product this year?

The new iPods were released just after the back to school rush. I wonder if this was deliberately done or not.

Apple knows what they’re doing, and they know that you can’t join the “coolest kid in school” contest without having a new ipod. Perfect timing!

Electronic companies putting out new product around school time is no surprise. I’m pretty sure that other companies do this as well, not just apple.
