Once you get an iPad, you can’t wait to open it up, and start installing your favorite applications and accessories. With so many out there, which ones should you shop for first? Well, here are some of my favorite choices for great iPad apps and accessories.
Microsoft Office for iPad. This has made a lot of news here lately. It gives your iPad the ability to run Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint now. While the iPad has had Apple’s productivity suite for a long time now the introduction of Office for iPad opens up an whole new level of productivity for businesses customers who have only used Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Best thing about the software is now you do not have to convert documents from one format to another. You do need a Office365 subscription to take advantage of a lot of features, but with 5 user licenses for computers and iPhone/iPad integration it is actually much nicer now than it was previously.
News Applications – I am constantly trying to stay up to date with the world. News Applications allow me to do so quickly and easily. Some of my favorites are
- USA Today
- Chicago Tribune
- CNN
- Engadget
- DIGG – probably my favorite since it does most of the work for me and gives me stories that are trending automatically.
- DropBox/OneDrive – both of these are cloud based storage applications. Great for someone who needs to have access to files across multiple devices.
- LinkedIn – I have found both vendors and customers using LinkedIn. It also has great news articles and information for what is going on in the world
Keyboard Cases – One of the hardest things for me to do on any tablet is type a document or work on a spreadsheet easily. With a nice keyboard case it makes it much easier to do the basic business applications that I have to do on a daily basis. I really like the following cases.
iPad 2, 3, 4 –
iPad Air –
iPad Air –
Mophie Juice Packs – I am a big believer of never losing power on my devices, and it never fails that I lose power at the worst possible times. I always carry one of these with me and since it is good for both iPads and iPhones I never have to worry about running out of power.
Of course, these are just a few examples of all the amazing things you can do with your new iPad. For more information, stop by Abt’s Connect Tech and Apple Store, or shop Abt.com!
