While none of us are too happy to welcome the end of summer, late August holds a special treat that makes saying goodbye a little easier: the Abt Family Picnic. It’s one of the two times a year that everyone at Abt has a chance to step away from the store for a moment to enjoy some time with friends and family. Kids and parents alike get a chance to unwind with a fishing derby, bounce houses, mini golf course and plenty of other activities. Our friends at Bub City came by to serve some stellar BBQ, which was followed up by shaved ice treats from Kona Ice.
And a half-dozen brave souls that had room after enjoying way too much excellent BBQ sat down to vie for the prestigious title of pie-eating champ. It was a great way to spend a sweltering Sunday afternoon. Here are some scenes from the Abt Family Picnic:
