Experience the New Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Living Kitchen

wolf sub-zero cove showroom at Abt+

The Sub-Zero and Wolf Living Kitchen had been a cornerstone of our atrium since the opening of our current location in 2002. One of a handful of Living Kitchens across the country—and the largest in the Midwest—the showroom showcased the best Viking and Sub-Zero appliances in a variety of luxury kitchen vignettes. It was a stunning boutique, but like many things from the early 2000s, it was beginning to show its age. Plus, in the time since its creation, Sub-Zero/Wolf had added Cove dishwashers to its brand portfolio. So, it was time for a refresh. After a complete gut renovation of the space, we’re proud to unveil the all-new Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Living Kitchen.

To create the new space, we enlisted help from some local experts. The overall look of the main kitchen vignette comes from NuHaus Design, who who wanted to evoke the feel of an old Chicago loft. To achieve this look, they planned lots of rustic surfaces: the timber ceiling and wood floors were done by Apex Flooring, while the exposed brick walls by Panel Brick—made using reclaimed Chicago brick—call to mind the interior of a long-standing industrial building. The cabinets were crafted by Exclusive Woodwork, who chose a variety of modern surfaces to complement the sleek stainless steel of the Wolf ranges and cooktops, Sub-Zero refrigerators and freezers, and Cove dishwashers. Throughout the space, visitors can get a hands-on feel for these appliances, and experience how they might look in a completed luxury kitchen. Putting more than 100 unique appliances in one showroom also provides a unique opportunity to compare options and see which ones are exactly right for each customer’s vision. The Living Kitchen is fully open and ready for visitors, so stop by to see what’s possible for your own home.
