CES 2019: MSI PC Gaming Gear

We continued our exploration of the most drool-worthy PC gaming gear at CES by stopping by the MSI booth. In a sea of RGB-imbued peripherals, everything catches your eye, but a big monitor and a small PC are a couple of the new gaming products that stood out to us the most.

The new MSI Optix MPG341CQR gaming monitor, a 34-inch 1440p curved screen that does 144Hz and has a 1ms response time, is the brand’s new flagship display for gamers. But it’s more than just a pretty screen, because inside the MSI Optix MPG341CQR is a bunch of smart tech that can give you an edge in gaming. An integrated camera is capable of facial recognition, and facial profiles can be linked to adjust screen settings to individual users. The built-in mic gives you voice control over the monitors functions, and MSI is currently working on integrating it with your choice of smart assistant. And that RGB accent strip isn’t just for show; it utilizes SteelSeries’ smart engine to communicate with your programs and give you realtime info about game stats, chat notifications, and more. Check out the MSI Opttix MPG341CQR (a CES 2019 Innovation Award winner, btw) below.

Need a new machine to power that impressive new monitor? MSI’s got you covered. The MSI Trident X Plus prebuilt gaming PC is up to the task. While gamers and other serious PC users tend to prefer building their own rigs, prebuilt gaming PCs have been growing in popularity lately, since it’s often more cost-effective and the quality of the machines can be trusted. The MSI Trident X Plus is a perfect example. It’s available in a variety of configurations, including up to an Intel i9-9900K and an RTX 2080ti, so it should be capable of pushing AAA games at their highest settings even at 4K resolution. And though it’s a small form-factor case, the MSI Trident X Plus is specifically built to be easily upgradable.
