Dyson Airwrap: A New Twist on the Curling Iron

Two years ago, Dyson took their decades of expertise in vacuums and applied it to another everyday appliance that you could find in the majority of households—the handheld hair dryer. The result was the Dyson Supersonic, and it shook up an industry that hadn’t seen much innovation in ages. Now, Dyson is continuing its quest to revolutionize hair care with the release of the Dyson Airwrap curling iron.

Like the Supersonic, the Airwrap curling iron uses Dyson’s high-tech digital motor to make an existing styling tool not just easier to use, but also better for your hair. Instead of relying just on searing heat, the Airwrap uses a vortex of hot air (hence the name) to wrap your hair around the Airwrap and set the curls. While the air is hot, it never gets higher than 300 degrees Fahrenheit—about 100 degrees less than many traditional curling irons and well below the temps at which hair can be irreversibly damaged.

Using an air stream in the curling process provides additional benefits. The Dyson Airwrap can dry your hair while styling it, and the air adds volume to your hair while curling. And the Dyson Airwrap works with a variety of attachments which increase its functionality, like the pre-styling  dryer, which can be used to prep wet hair for styling; and volumizing and smoothing brushes designed for different types of hair.

They Dyson Airwrap will be on store shelves soon, priced starting at $499.99.  If you’d like to learn more about Dyson’s other hair care product, the Supersonic hair dryer, don’t forget to stop by our Dyson Supersonic demo event on October 12th and 13th!
