The automotive enthusiast event returns for its fifth year at Abt.
It’s always a bit of a bummer when we reach mid-August, knowing that the end of summer is rapidly approaching. Thankfully, we do have at least a couple things to still look forward to before the cold arrives. One of them is the annual Cruisin’ For Awareness charity car show and R/C racing event, which benefits the For Autistic Kids Foundation. Join us on September 9th to enjoy an afternoon filled with exciting automotive action, while helping out a great cause.
Cruisin’ For Awareness is part traditional car show and part R/C racing tournament. Owners of all types of show cars—from old school hot-rods to modern “future classics” and everything in between—are invited to show their car at the event for a $20 entry fee. Trophies will be awarded to over 20 different winners in a variety of classes, including:
- “Best of Show” – Stock
- “Best of Show” – Modified
- “Best of Show” – Future Classic
- “Best of Show” – Motorcycle
- “Best Engine”
- “Best Paint”
- “Best Wheels”
- “Abt’s Choice”
- “For Autistic Kids’ Choice
In previous years, we’ve seen everything from the classic American muscle car to decked-out ex-military vehicles. If it’s interesting and it has wheels, you’re welcome to show it. And of course, everyone is welcome to come check out all of the rides for free. In addition to the car show, dozens of pro radio-controlled car racers will be competing in an action-packed R/C car race series and providing demonstrations of high-end R/C cars. The show goes on in rain or shine, so we hope to see all you gearheads out there!
