It’s no secret that todays’ world is a place packed full of technological wonders; luxuries such as wireless internet access and on-the-go handheld gaming entertainment are now commonplace, and it’s easy to find examples of electronic gadgetry used in all walks of life.
Considering how much time many of us spend in our vehicles, it’s a great idea to incorporate some of these modern luxuries and conveniences to enjoy whilst on the road. In this article we’ll be looking at some of the fantastic electronic products that are on the market today, to enhance your in-car experience.
Although they have been around for a while now, car GPS systems get more and more impressive as time goes on; with their detailed maps, rapid positioning response time and global map availability, it’s no wonder that more and more people invest in one of these handy devices every year.
It takes only the entry of a postcode (or zip code) to plan a route to your chosen destination, whilst mapping any service stations, points of interest or other locations whilst en-route. You can also save your favourite destinations so you don’t have to re-input the information each time you want to take that same journey. With up-to-date information on road traffic and alternative route suggestions to avoid traffic jams, the only drawback of Satellite (Sat) Navigation (Navs) is that you no longer have an excuse as to why you’re late for work!
Many modern car stereos and CD players now feature an AUX port, which allows for the connection of mobile phones, mp3 players and other audio devices. The great thing about this is the sound quality; music in digital mp3 format is crystal clear, and when connected via a double AUX cable there is no skipping or static interference.
If you are really looking to improve the sound quality in your car, consider replacing old factory fitted speakers with high-quality alternatives. Modern speakers and subwoofers put out a fantastic and superior sound quality, which doesn’t get that frustrating ‘fuzzy’ sound once the volume is turned up. Please note however, it may be worth saving your more cheesy guilty pleasures for when you’re on rural country roads and not stuck at the traffic lights!
Ensuring your vehicle is secure and safe from the hands of would-be thieves is paramount when leaving it parked on the street or overnight in an unfamiliar area. Fitting your vehicle with a responsive alarm system is a very smart move, not only will it lower your insurance premium, but it can deter thieves before any real damage is done to your car.
Remote locks are useful when looking to ‘double-check’ your vehicle is locked and secure once in the house or office. Simply clicking the lock button will lock the car and activate the alarm.
The modern motorist has electronic gadgets and accessories for every need; so you see, you don’t need to consult Xzibit before pimping your ride out with some of the most useful and indulgent gadgets of the 21st century!
