Frigidaire and Electrolux Recall

Frigidaire and Electrolux have released news of a product recall that includes Frigidaire and Electrolux ICON smooth top electric cooktops purchased between January 2005 through August 2010.  As the recall report states, liquid has been known to pool under the knobs on the front of the unit, which can lead to being a fire hazard.

Above is an example of the location of where liquids can pool.

If you believe you have a unit that falls under the recall, please visit Frigidaire’s recall page and fill in the required information. The model and serial numbers for the slide-in ranges can be found inside the oven door on the left side of the unit or on the underside surface on cooktop models.

If you own one of these recalled items, stop using it and unplug the recalled ranges or power off cooktops at the circuit breaker. For full information you can contact Electrolux at (888) 281-5310 between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m ET Monday through Saturday or visit the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website direct.
