Panasonic has unveiled the world’s thinnest plasma TV, a 50-inch NeoPDP model that measures just one-third of an inch thick, making supermodels all over the world extremely jealous. Now on display at the Consumer Electronics Show, this super-thin NeoPDP panel provides more setup flexibility, including wall mounting and suspension from the ceiling. A wireless HD-based transmission system delivers even more setup flexibility.
The newly developed NeoPDP technology helps this TV achieve high-level picture quality with a moving resolution of 1080 lines, along with low energy consumption and a high contrast ratio. Toss in true-to-life color reproduction and a wide viewing angle, and it looks like a win for this thin display. —by Marc Cook (at CES) and Graham W.
