Sony's New PSP: The Next Top Model?

The Sony PSP went on a crash diet and has reappeared as a lighter, sleeker version of its former self—putting it on the runway as possibly the next top model in the portable gaming world. The PSP 2000 is 19% thinner and 33% lighter than the PSP 1000, and it also gives you faster loading times, thanks to its 64MB RAM as opposed to the 32MB on the original model.

Veteran gamers should like the modified control buttons, which are now more elevated and more responsive. There’s also an audio/video output jack that doubles as a headphone connector. The A/V jack allows you to connect the PSP to a TV for enhanced images and sound. The PSP 2000 can be charged with the standard adapter and also via the USB port, which wasn’t the case with the PSP 1000.

Available now is a Daxter Bundle Gaming System, which includes the Daxter game and a Family Guy UMD video with a silver PSP. Coming soon are a black PSP-only version and a Star Wars Bundle Gaming System, which includes a Star Wars Battlefront Renegade Squadron game with a ceramic white PSP featuring Darth Vader’s image.

I was in a store the other day and saw the new PSP. I have had mine for a year now so I am not too bummed out… but this one is much sleeker. Kinda wish I had one of these.
