Watch the Big Games in Style

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

The NCAA Final Four semi-finals and championship games are around the corner. Is your TV up to par, or is now the time to consider a new one? Abt’s weekly specials section has seven TVs in stock and available for Chicagoland delivery before the big games.

Michigan and Butler tip off at 6:05pm ET Saturday evening (4/3), and West Virginia battles Duke immediately following at 9pm ET. The winners will fight for the NCAA championship on Monday, April 5th—time to be announced.

Abt delivers to Chicagoland customers every day, except Wednesday and Sunday; Indiana and Wisconsin deliveries are Tuesday and Saturday only.

Speak to an Abt sales specialist in-store, on the phone, or on-line via web-based live chat about a new TV for the Super Bowl of college basketball.

Replace Your VCR!!!

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Would you like to record your favorite programming on to a DVD? The Toshiba DR570 DVD recorder will give you that ability. You can also record programming from VHS tapes to DVD if you connect to a VCR.

One Touch Recording makes recording your favorite show simple. Just connect your DVD recorder to your cable box, antenna, or satellite box and you are set to record with the push of one button!

DVD recorders don’t require a tape for recording and they are far easier to program than a VCR. Most DVRs can record with just one click of the remote. DVDs are easier to store and preserve than VHS tapes too. So if you have tapes of family events or old movies, connect the DVD recorder to a VCR and you can quickly convert older VHS tapes to DVD.

The Toshiba DR570 is a great last minute gift idea for anyone—especially if you have someone on your list that still uses a VCR.

Gadget Buying Made Simple

Monday, December 14th, 2009

This morning, Josh Davis, of Abt Electronics, did a featured segment for You & Me This Morning with Jeanne Sparrow, on WCIU—channel 26. He explained that gadgets and electronics do not have to be intimidating.

Giving gadgets for Christmas is simple and less expensive than ever before, Josh explains. The Bumblebee Bluetooth headset is just $9.99. In previous years, a Bluetooth headset cost anywhere from $50-$100.

Another great, inexpensive gift idea from Abt is the iPod Shuffle. At only $59.00 it can be a great present or stocking-stuffer. The Shuffle can hold 500 songs and the headphones talk, giving the listener information about the song they are listening to.

Digital cameras are a hot gift for the holiday season too. Josh tells me they have really gone down in price. The 12 megapixel Olympus FE-26 is only $82 at abt.com. Another great camera option is the Sony Webbie. It is both an HD digital camera and video recorder for $129.

Shocking to many, Blu-ray disc players have dropped in price dramatically. Onkyo has Blu-ray players for $124 and up, Sony and LG have models for $149 and up, Panasonic and Toshiba Blu-rays start at $159, and Samsung players start at $159.

If you still need gift ideas or electronics are still intimidating, call Abt or visit Abt.com and speak with a sales specialist for advice.
