Teen Designs Dream Room with a Little Help From Abt

Tuesday, March 1st, 2011

Michael Brown, a 13-year old from Chickamuaga, GA was given a hunk of money to use however he pleases and perfect what he now calls a “teen cave”.  His parents, after giving him the money, forced a stipulation of not going beyond his budget.  Such restrictions forced Michael to learn budgeting as well as making economic decisions.

One way of saving some money is by shopping at Abt (naturally).  Michael learned about Abt online and found himself a 46 inch Samsung to be the main entertainment piece of his room.  We were happy to assist and glad to hear that everything came together, and under his budget.

CES 2011: Samsung Flexes Its Techno Know How

Friday, January 7th, 2011

Some real amazing stuff from Samsung at CES 2011 have been found.  First, is  Samsung’s ultra thin 75 inch LED Smart HDTV.  The TV, like other Smart TVs will support internet connectivity, apps, 3D content and playback.  It is also power efficient due to LED backlighting and more.

And when we say thin, we mean THIN.

It looks like an upright, glass tube from this angle.  Also at Samsung’s booth is their display for Google TV.

Sony is no longer the only manufacturer to have Google TV options.  Samsung will be releasing two versions of their Google TV boxes.  One a regular stand-alone box and the other will have add on Blu-ray capability. Also, they’ll come with special Google TV remotes that include QWERTY keyboards and voice search capabilities operated by an internal microphone.

Samsung 60HZ Issues

Monday, January 3rd, 2011

We have been receiving numerous calls lately with customers inquiring about the quality of their TV.  Customers who have purchased a Samsung TV have noticed the information window in the corner of their screen shows “60HZ”.  Customers are concerned that their 120HZ Samsung TV is not operating at optimum performance.  No need to worry, the explanation is simple.

The information window stating “60HZ” is referencing the incoming signal of the program, not the refresh rate of the TV.  When the Samsung TV receives the signal the refresh rate doubles, providing a smoother, more fluid image.
