Abt at the Movies- Casa De Mi Padre

Tuesday, July 17th, 2012

The first time I saw Anchorman, I hated it.  That sounds blasphemous now, but I went into the movie  thinking it would be a riot, and left scratching my head.  A year after, I gave it another shot when it came out on DVD and I haven’t looked back since.  I quote it almost everyday and oogle at Will Ferrell and Steve Carrell’s mind-numbingly funny comedic timing.  Will Ferrell has come out with another movie called ”Casa De Mi Padre”  that had critics scratching their own heads, but this time, since I went into it with no expectations, I bought every minute of it.

Onkyo Receivers – Imaginative Sight & Sound

Friday, May 27th, 2011

So due to the storms a couple of weeks back, I had to replace my beloved Onkyo TXSR805 Audio/Video receiver. I had it hooked in to Panamax of course, so they are taking care of the replacement cost. When looking for the replacement it was a no-brainer to go to the Onkyo TXNR808. As good as the old Onkyo was – Wow this new one is great! The picture going through the receiver looks amazing, and the audio is very detailed. I also like the fact that it is a network receiver, meaning if you connect it to your network, you can access Pandora, Internet radio Stations, and Rhapsody. The supply of music is almost endless. I must say I have had many different brands of audio video receivers, but will be staying with Onkyo for the foreseeable future.

Abt carries many different A/V receivers by Onkyo.  Learn more about Abt’s line of Onkyo A/V receivers.

Gadget Buying Made Simple

Monday, December 14th, 2009

This morning, Josh Davis, of Abt Electronics, did a featured segment for You & Me This Morning with Jeanne Sparrow, on WCIU—channel 26. He explained that gadgets and electronics do not have to be intimidating.

Giving gadgets for Christmas is simple and less expensive than ever before, Josh explains. The Bumblebee Bluetooth headset is just $9.99. In previous years, a Bluetooth headset cost anywhere from $50-$100.

Another great, inexpensive gift idea from Abt is the iPod Shuffle. At only $59.00 it can be a great present or stocking-stuffer. The Shuffle can hold 500 songs and the headphones talk, giving the listener information about the song they are listening to.

Digital cameras are a hot gift for the holiday season too. Josh tells me they have really gone down in price. The 12 megapixel Olympus FE-26 is only $82 at abt.com. Another great camera option is the Sony Webbie. It is both an HD digital camera and video recorder for $129.

Shocking to many, Blu-ray disc players have dropped in price dramatically. Onkyo has Blu-ray players for $124 and up, Sony and LG have models for $149 and up, Panasonic and Toshiba Blu-rays start at $159, and Samsung players start at $159.

If you still need gift ideas or electronics are still intimidating, call Abt or visit Abt.com and speak with a sales specialist for advice.
