Custom Car Install at Abt

Abt’s Mobile Installation team delivered a rolling symphony of sound to the Abt sales floor this past weekend.  A 2010 Mercedes C300 has been outfitted with Focal speakers, amplifiers, and subwoofers.  The most impressive part of the installation is zero modification to the factory interior of the vehicle.  While keeping all of the factory controls in the dashboard and cutting no holes in the panels, the audio has gone from plain and typical to vibrant and lifelike.

Custom Car Install at Abt

Alpine provides a solution for uncompromised sound without changing the radio in the dashboard of the vehicle, while Focal provides our sales and installation teams almost limitless options in breathing excitement back into driving your car. Quality sound and practicality meet in the trunk of this vehicle leaving room for golf bags, groceries, luggage, or your most recent purchase from Abt. (wink wink)

Visions of subwoofers that fill the trunk vanish as the sleek interior of the vehicle is complimented in the trunk.

Also hidden in this installation is a custom radar detector to help avoid those pesky red light camera tickets and/or speeding ticket. Don’t forget a remote start, which we have available for almost all makes, models, and years, including Mercedes Benz. The remote start used in this installation is unique in the way it is controlled: your smartphone. If you own a Droid, iPhone, or Blackberry, you can start your car from virtually anywhere with cellular service.

If you have questions about improving the sound in your vehicle or keeping your car interior warm this winter, contact our Mobile Installation Department and don’t forget  to come on in and see the car.

Do You Use Your Phone To Shop?

Mobile Survey

According to RetailCustomerExperience.com, 15% of consumers use their phone to make purchases.  This includes using their phone to verify product ability, competitively price items while at a store, and create shopping lists.  Out of the respondents, two thirds like the idea of self-scanning their items to avoid checkout lines, while one fourth of respondents would like to use their phones to get coupons and store specials.  The main complaints of using the mobile channel were internet connection problems, the cell phone’s screen size wasn’t large enough to compare products, and security issues.

Do you use your phone to shop?   If yes, what are your reasons to do so and do you have any concerns?

How Do You Use Your Cell Phone?

Pew Research Center

In May, the Pew Research Center conducted a study about how Americans use their cell phones. Some conclusions were expected, while others were a surprise.  It wasn’t a shock to know that six in ten adults go online with either a cell phone or laptop with wireless internet connection. Also, it was not a shock to know that Americans have increased going online through their phone and using internet based applications (internet, email or instant messaging) with compared to last year’s data. What did surprise me was that 38% of this group used their phones to get on to the internet, while 34% played games on their cellular devices. I thought that more people would use their phones to access the internet. It was not a surprise that 76% use their phones to take pictures and 72% use it for text messaging. What do you do on your phone? Do you browse the web, take pictures, play games, text or use it to call people?
