Check out this video of our Mobile Installation department installing a brand new INE-Z928HD 8-inch Alpine in-dash double DIN in 7 inches of space for a customer’s Lamborghini Gallardo.  Great job guys!

We are proud to mention that our mobile electronics department was voted #1 in the country in the  Mobile Electronics Magazine.  Beating out 11 other contenders, consumers were allowed to vote for their favorite mobile electronics retailer, based on their experiences, both in service and quality of products.

Special congratulations goes out to our installers, John Samp and Garrick Allen for making it in the Top 12 installers in the country.

Abt Electronics’ Mobile Audio department was honored recently as one of the Nation’s Top 50 retailers in Mobile Electronics.  Our Mobile installers, John Samp and Gary Allen were also honored as part of the Top 100 Installers in the nation. Congratulations to all those involved on their hard work and dedication!

I don’t know about you, but in the summer I feel like I’m always going somewhere. Since I spend so much time in the car, there are so many more chances to be pulled over. I’ve been lucky so far (knock on wood). I like to play it safe, so I have been thinking of getting an Escort radar detector.

Abt’s mobile audio department can turn your car into your own personal playground. John S., mobile electronics department manager called me today and said, “Do you want to come down and see an iPad that I just put in the dash of a car?”

I grabbed my camera and headed down to mobile electronics. I had an image in my head of what I thought it would look like, and admittedly, I wasn’t sure what the iPad would do, but I knew it would look cool.

When I got to the installation bay, I looked in the passenger door as John finished putting on the final touches and tested everything to make sure that the stereo and iPad worked correctly. I told him how cool it looked and then I stopped and said, but what does it do?

John explained that the iPad could control everything from the ignition, to the locks, to the security system on the Tahoe. He went on to show me it worked in conjunction with the Viper Smart Start App on his Blackberry.

In addition to controlling major systems in the car, it also performs all the functions of an iPad, like accessing iTunes and iPad Apps.

The iPad works off the wireless or 3G network, so if you want to use it as a GPS, radio, or streaming video player, go for it. You can do virtually anything with it.
