Apple Announces MacBook Pro Updates

Monday, October 24th, 2011

Apple unveiled updates to its entire MacBook Pro lineup, which have faster processors, improved performance, and larger hard drives without changing prices. The upgrades on the faster MacBook models will be available in time for the 2011 Christmas shopping season.

The 13-inch MacBook Pro comes in two configurations, an entry-level configuration that sells for $1,199.00 with an Intel Core i5 processor, and a faster $1,499.00 model equipped with an Intel Core i7 processor. Both have received a slight bump in speed, as well as larger hard drives. The entry-level 13-inch gets a new 2.4-GHz processor (up from 2.3GHz), and increases its storage space from 320GB to 500GB. The faster MacBook Pro 13-inch gets a newer iteration of the Core i7, running at 2.8GHz (up from 2.7GHz) and getting a larger 750GB hard drive, increased from 500GB.

The Mac Book Air Has Landed

Thursday, October 28th, 2010

Apple’s newest laptop release, the Mac book Air, is actually designed based on the technical specifications of their iPad.  Available in either an 11 inch or 13 inch screen, it is designed around an all-flash storage. This lets the laptop respond quicker and weigh next to nothing.

One of the really intriguing designs for their MacBook Air is the multi-touchtrack pad ability.  Various actions with your fingertips allow you to control the use of applications, adjust images, and move windows.  The mechanics of each move can be seen at Apple’s link, MacBook Features.

Other features include a built-in monitor camera, long lasting battery, a powerful NVIDIA graphics card and a high resolution screen.  For full information, check out our hompage for the MacBook Air or our Apple page for a full line of products and accessories.

New Apple Laptops

Tuesday, May 18th, 2010

Spring is in full swing… Out with the old, in with the new – MacBooks, that is. Apple’s newest MacBook – announced today – is now available at Abt, as is the complete line-up of new MacBook Pro laptops… perfect gifts for grads, dads (moms, too!), newlyweds, or anyone on any occasion!

The newest 13″ MacBook has a faster processor, new-generation advanced NVIDIA graphics, and 10-hour battery life, which is three hours longer than the previous model.

The newest 15″ and 17” MacBook Pro models have Intel i5 and i7 processors and NVIDIA graphics that improve performance by up to 50% – great for managing photos, editing movies, and 3D gaming. The 13″ and 15″ MacBook Pro models include two USB ports, a FireWire 800 port, and SD card slot; the 17″ MacBook Pro adds a third USB port and swaps the SD card slot for an ExpressCard/34 slot.

If you need optional upgrades, Abt stocks many MacBook Pro models with more memory, larger disks, hi-resolution anti-glare screens, and solid-state drives. And don’t forget about great accessories, like the Time Capsule for backups, and iWork or Microsoft Office for Mac for creating documents, spreadsheets, and presentations.
