Come to Abt this Weekend for the Home and Grill Event

Friday, June 11th, 2010

Abt and the Design Center will be fired up this weekend for the Grilling and Home Event.

Start the summer grilling season with a new grill from Abt. Professional grill masters will be on hand to teach grilling techniques and give tips on how to make an amazing meal on the grill. After you master the art of grilling, take a look at all the different grills available at Abt.

All the stores in the Abt Design Center will have special promotions for the weekend as well.

The Kohler Store is offering a Purist Katalyst showerhead for only $50 as well as a seminar on how to transform your bathroom into a spa.

Fox lighting Galleries will take 20% off your regularly priced merchandise.

California Closets will give you $300 worth of accessories with the purchase of an organizing system.

Avanti will give you 20% off new kitchen cabinetry and 20% off a grill with any cabinetry purchase.

The Viking Cooking School is giving you 20% off a Viking BBQ Basics Class with the purchase of a grill.

And last, but never least, Jolane’s is offering ½ price appetizers this Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t miss the fun and discounts all weekend at Abt!

Win with Abt and Kohler this Weekend

Friday, September 11th, 2009

The Kohler Store, Fox Lighting Galleries, Lutron, Subzero, Wolf, Viking, DDK, Exotic Marble and Tile, and Avanti are all participating in a national water conservation campaign. The event in the atrium takes place at Abt Electronics this Saturday, September 12 from 10 am- 5 pm and Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 11 am-5 pm to show consumers how to cut down on water and energy consumption.

After speaking with Lynn Schrange of the Kohler Store, I realized how little that I knew about how water is wasted in a home.

Lynn pointed out that our planet is made up of 75% water, although only less than 1% is ok to drink. We need to really work on keeping our water supply safe—there’s not that much there. In homes, we can save up to 39,000 gallons per year by making small—almost unnoticeable changes to our lives. 39,000 gallons is enough drinking water for a family of four for an entire year or enough to fill a swimming pool.

The first change the Save Water America Campaign tells us to make is get a low flow faucet and turn off water when it’s not in use (like when we are brushing our teeth). That can save 14, 700 gallons of water per year. Next, installing a low-flow shower head can conserve 7,700 gallons per year. Most impressive, if we were to install low flow toilets and remove leaky ones, we could save 16,500 gallons of water each year.

Lynn also told me about a simple quiz about water conservation that is on the Kohler website. If you take this simple 90-second quiz, one dollar will be donated to Habitat for Humanity.

There will be prizes, drawings, and products available for purchase. All of the items that are available for purchase are eligible for free delivery and there are installation options for all of the energy conserving products!
