CES 2010 Is Now Over

Monday, January 11th, 2010

The 2010 Consumer Electronics Show is over; all the booths are down and the attendees are returning to their respective companies, heads dizzy from all of the new technology they’ve just seen.

The hottest categories this year were definitely Green Tech, 3D, and Smartphones. The tablet computer has been the talk of Vegas all weekend. CES saw different manufacturer’s versions of the tablet, but Apple’s long awaited announcement, January 27, has overshadowed the models we’ve seen. Apple will not confirm that the announcement is going to be the release of the Apple tablet, but it is intensely speculated.

Stay up to date about all the latest technology right here on the Abt Blog. For more information on the products seen at CES, talk with an Abt sales specialist.

CES 2010 Kicks Off Tonight With Ballmer's Keynote Address

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Tomorrow is the official start of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Many people will arrive today to get a headstart on viewing all the greatest new consumer electronics. Some of the newest technology has already been leaked. Here are a few of the new products that you should check out.

iHome is revealing the iP2. It’s an iPod docking station perfect for a kitchen. With a 50-watt amp you will be able to listen to your favorite tunes—even with your stand mixer running at full speed. The iP2 comes equipped with a timer, FM radio tuner, and so much more. Its stream-lined look will coordinate with any kitchen décor.

ASUS will be re-releasing the Eee Keyboard PC. First revealed in 2009, the keyboard PC had a few too many bugs for public launch. Now, it seems, the keyboard PC is ready for release. The Eee keyboard is rumored to be ready to hit the market sometime within the next month.

Tablet PCs have long been meant for specific users, usually in a technology field where the design and function of a slate computer is necessary. Today at the CES opening key-note speech at 6:30pm PT, Steve Ballmer will introduce an HP-built “slate-type computer.” What will this computer do? Stay tuned to the Abt blog for updates!

Would you like to watch digital TV anywhere? Samsung has the answer for you. Samsung’s (Android-driven) “Moment” has been altered slightly to allow for a digital TV tuner. Currently, it is still in the concept phase, but within a few months, trial phones will be in use in Baltimore and Washington D.C.
