Don’t Get Caught Waiting in Line…Pre-order at Abt!

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

2011 saw a slew of high demand, hard-to-get products released.  The iPad 2, the Transformer tablet by Asus, and the Panasonic DMCFZ150K digital camera are just a few examples of items that loaded our phone lines and online chat with customers wanting to know when they could get one.

Have you ever noticed that some people always seem to get the latest products right when they come out, while the rest of us spend endless hours hunting down these new toys?  How do they do it?  How can you make sure that going forward, you don’t have to spend those hours on the phone and computer?  The answer lies on a roller coaster….

When I was a kid, we used to take a family trip to Six Flags Great America every summer.  It was always a blast to go ride the new ride for that year.  The newest roller coaster was always the highlight of our trip.  I’ll never forget the summer that Six Flags built “The Eagle”.  At the time, it was the largest, tallest, fastest wooden roller coaster in the US.  I couldn’t wait to ride it.

Well, the big day came and we all headed straight for the Eagle.  Holy cow!!!!  You would think they were giving money away on this ride.  The line was the longest any of us had ever seen at Six Flags.  For those of you who have been to an amusement park, you know that that’s saying a lot!  So we decided to wait and see if the line got smaller.  You can guess what happened.  Every time we checked, the line was longer.  In the end, we never got to ride the Eagle that day.

Who got to ride it then, you say?  Well, the people that got in line, of course!  And the earlier they got in line, the quicker they got to enjoy that new ride.

It’s the same with these new, hot, hard to get products.  The best way to get one is to get in line by placing a pre-order.  What is a preorder you say? Abt always gives you the option to preorder any new or hot items right on our web site.  When you see that new item you just have to have, the first thing you should do is place a pre-order.  That gets you in line for the ride and makes sure no more people get in that line in front of you.  Good web sites, like Abt.com, will not charge your credit card until the item arrives and ships.  There is never a penalty for cancelling.  A pre-order costs you nothing but the 2 minutes it takes to enter it online or over the phone.

So,  stop spending your valuable time looking for those hot new products.  Place a preorder at Abt now and get on the ride before anyone else!

CES 2010 Kicks Off Tonight With Ballmer's Keynote Address

Wednesday, January 6th, 2010

Tomorrow is the official start of the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. Many people will arrive today to get a headstart on viewing all the greatest new consumer electronics. Some of the newest technology has already been leaked. Here are a few of the new products that you should check out.

iHome is revealing the iP2. It’s an iPod docking station perfect for a kitchen. With a 50-watt amp you will be able to listen to your favorite tunes—even with your stand mixer running at full speed. The iP2 comes equipped with a timer, FM radio tuner, and so much more. Its stream-lined look will coordinate with any kitchen décor.

ASUS will be re-releasing the Eee Keyboard PC. First revealed in 2009, the keyboard PC had a few too many bugs for public launch. Now, it seems, the keyboard PC is ready for release. The Eee keyboard is rumored to be ready to hit the market sometime within the next month.

Tablet PCs have long been meant for specific users, usually in a technology field where the design and function of a slate computer is necessary. Today at the CES opening key-note speech at 6:30pm PT, Steve Ballmer will introduce an HP-built “slate-type computer.” What will this computer do? Stay tuned to the Abt blog for updates!

Would you like to watch digital TV anywhere? Samsung has the answer for you. Samsung’s (Android-driven) “Moment” has been altered slightly to allow for a digital TV tuner. Currently, it is still in the concept phase, but within a few months, trial phones will be in use in Baltimore and Washington D.C.

Check the Abt Blog for the latest news from CES 2010.

Missing You Might Be Easier With ASUS

Wednesday, August 26th, 2009

Although I’ve never sent a kid to college, I imagine that it’s a daunting task. Missing that child has got to be unbearable. Or, what if a loved one has to move, or even travel a lot? Connecting with that person face-to-face would be a great comfort. ASUS Videophone for Skype might just be an answer to the question, how can I make missing my friends and family easier, when they are so far away?

Not everyone can afford a laptop or computer with a webcam. Sometimes they aren’t portable enough. ASUS has reintroduced a 10”, 3.5 pound videophone for Skype that is portable enough to bring just about anywhere. This videophone can be used to make Skype-to-Skype calls, calls to landlines, and calls to cell phones. Even if you are not currently a Skype user, it’s free and easy to sign up for an account.

The ASUS is impressive for such a futuristic device. Once the initial set-up is complete, it’s pretty much dial and you’re good to go. After reading reviews on the videophone, most users have noted that it is far easier to use than a webcam—making it a great gift idea for grandparents and grandchildren too. Abt Electronics is a proud retailer for the ASUS Videophone for Skype.

Portability is a benefit of the ASUS Videophone compared to that of computer webcams. Resolution of the screen is 800 x 480 Pixel, on a 7” touch screen. It also boasts a great frame rate. The videophone can easily be packed or locked in a hotel safe. Take the ASUS with you for a video chat of up to 20 minutes, or talk as long as you want when it’s in the hinged base.
