Back To School: Bose Headphones

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Don’t fear, I haven’t turned this into an Apple blog just yet. Apple has definitely found their way on to the college campus but so have many other popular gadgets. For example, Bose and their Around the Ear Headphones are making a major rumble among college students.

From personal experience privacy is hard to come by and loud distracting noises are inescapable in the dorm, fraternity, or sorority.  With complete enclosure around your ear and light weight, comfort fitting design, Bose’s Around the Ear Headphones are a knock out for giving you noise isolation. They allow you to escape the distractions around you, study in peace, and even listen to your favorite music or movies.

These Bose tri-port headphones are perfect for hooking up to your computer or portable media device. Bose headphones use the most advanced technology to give you deep, rich sounds. Reveal top of the line audio quality with these headphones that deliver a home theater like experience.

Back To School: Apple iPods

Monday, August 4th, 2008

If you haven’t seen or experienced Apple’s line of iPods you might have been living under a rock. With the release of the first iPod on October 23rd, 2001 Apple has revolutionized the way we listen to music.

Where Apple has seen some of its most success has been on college campuses nationwide. Duke
University even handed out iPods to all incoming freshmen for educational purposes. These lightweight, entertainment machines, have gone mainstream around college.

Apple iPods - Abt Electronics

Starting with the iPod Nano, this ultra compact MP3 player is perfect for the on-the-go student. Weighing in at only 1.74 ounces and smaller than a credit card, this player is perfect for jogging around campus or working out at the gym. This small player packs a big punch holding up to 8GB or about 2,000 songs. The Nano also allows you to store photos and play back video.

Next, in Apple’s line of MP3 players, is the iPod Classic. This player is meant for those in need of storage capacity. If you like to keep your entire collection of music, without having to pick and choose what’s on your playlist, the Classic is for you. This iPod stores up to 160GB, 40,000 songs, or 200 hours of video. While not as small as the iPod Nano, the Classic still maintains a sleek appearance and comfort of portability.

Finally, we have Apple’s newest iPod, the Touch, introduced to the family in 2007. This media powerhouse is capable of storing up to 32GB or 7,000 songs and contains a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display. With Wi-Fi capabilities and hundreds of applications, students can stay organized and get connected to their university e-mail. —by Scott Shefler

Back To School: Apple Macbook

Friday, August 1st, 2008

To recap, I’m the Marketing Summer Intern at Abt from the University of Illinois -Champaign. In the next week I will be featuring products that every college student wants and needs before entering school.

I thought I would start off with the most essential item for any college student. Apple’s MacBook and MacBook Pro. Apple has taken over the notebook industry by storm. In the past few years I’ve seen the drastic transition from Windows based notebooks to Apple notebooks on campus. Starting at 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB of memory, and 160GB Serial ATA Hard Drive, the Macbook and Macbook Pro are equipped with technology that will outlast your son or daughter’s stay at college.

These stylish and portable notebooks will allow for great mobility and power. They are perfect for the classroom or dorm and will store thousands of songs and photos. If you want to give the gift guaranteed to put a smile on your son or daughter’s face, and make a great investment into their education, then head over to our Apple Store here at Abt Electronics or order one online. —by Scott Shefler
